Be in your prayer space, follow the usual steps and settle into silence.

Sit still…..Relax…….Do not rush………

Take a couple of gentle, slow and deep breaths…becoming aware of your breath going in and out… stay focused on this breath of life……

Now from the depth of your heart begin to wish your mind well……….

We begin with a few simple thoughts on Wisdom….

Search your heart and find the Wisdom buried deep inside of yourself, in the very depth of your being. Wisdom, like the kingdom of heaven, can be found only deep inside of ourselves, in the very depth of our being. It is like the undiscovered country not yet on our maps. Wisdom has been described in various ways by different schools of thought. Take a moment and reflect on some the following thoughts:

Wisdom is “the ability to make sound choices, good decisions.

Wisdom is intelligence shaped by experience. Information softened by understanding.

Wisdom is a state of the human mind characterized by profound understanding and deep insight. It is often, but not necessarily, accompanied by extensive formal knowledge.

Wisdom is a perception of the connections, relationships among all things.

Wisdom is an awareness of wholeness that does not lose sight of particularity or concreteness, or of the intricacies of interrelationships.

Wisdom is where left and right brain comes together in a union of logic and poetry.

Wisdom is where self-awareness is no longer at odds with awareness of the otherness of the world.

Wisdom cannot be confined to a specialized field, nor is it an academic discipline; it is the consciousness of wholeness and integrity that transcends both.

Wisdom is complexity understood and relationships accepted. Many different words are used to describe wisdom and different aspects of wisdom are stressed by different people depending on the school of thought each one follows.

Wisdom is complex and not easy to describe. Yet it is important that we attempt to do just that. How can we hope to integrate wisdom into our lives if the concept isn’t clear and we don’t have the words to talk about it?

Take a moment….take a deep…deep breath, lung full of it, hold it for a moment and let it flow out slowly….

Do it a couple of times. Let us now begin to explore….to search… look deeply… listen intensely and to dialogue with wisdom!

Let us begin with a simple thought and gradually, slowly and gently move to the heights, plunge into the depth, run to the distance, sit in solitude, be still…whatever it takes to find and be blessed by wisdom and learn to live wisely.

Take a moment……Reflect on the wisdom of “speaking from within.”

When we speak our best, it is not our ordinary self speaking but the sacred, the divine within us. This is the meaning of inspiration (being filled with the spirit) and enthusiasm (having the God-force, Theos, God-Within).When we speak from this place, our listeners are rapt -caught up in spirit- and moved. Consider the disciples on Pentecost, filled with the Spirit, empowered to proclaim the risen Jesus to crowds of people who spoke many foreign tongues, but understood them.

The Holy Spirit is the wind that blows where it wills and takes all things with it. An African American spiritual suggests one result of such an experience: “Every time I feel the Spirit moving in my heart, I will pray.” Coming forth from that experience, we should not be surprised to hear inspired speech.

Moses complained to God that he, Moses, was “slow of tongue” when he was about to be sent on his historic mission to Pharaoh. God counseled him not to worry, for He, the Lord, would do the talking. All Moses had to do was show up. Jesus similarly advised the disciples not to be concerned about what to say on their mission trips, because the Spirit would give them the right words.

You may have experienced something like this on different occasions, I know I have. You didn’t know what to say and when you knew what to say, you didn’t know how to say it. Then, all of a sudden, it just happened and you were surprised and the listener got the message. You talk freely, as if from an invisible script another had prepared.

Have you ever felt inspired while speaking publicly or privately?

Take moment…… Re-live the experience…

There once was a bunch of tiny frogs, who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants…The race began…

Honestly…No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as: “Oh, WAY too difficult!!” “They will NEVER make it to the top!!”  “Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!!”

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one…Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher… The crowd continued to yell, “It is too difficult!!!   No one will make it!!” More tiny frogs got tired and gave up…But ONE continued higher and higher and higher…This one wouldn’t give up!

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog that, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top! THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it? A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal. It turned out…That the winner was DEAF!!!

The wisdom of this story is: Never listen to other people’s tendencies to be negative or pessimistic…Because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you…the ones you have in your heart!!!

Live wisely. Always think of the power words have.  Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!!! Every word that we speak is a chance to change what is bad into something good.

Therefore be wise: ALWAYS be…POSITIVE!!!  Be Optimistic!!

An optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty while a pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity!

And above all: Be DEAF to people who tell you that you can not fulfill your dreams!!!

Take moment…… Re-live the experience of speaking positive…

Take another moment……reflect on tuning yourself off to negative talk…
